The Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Board met on 6 August 2026. The meeting was chaired by Board Chair, Renee Williams, and attended by 5 Board members.
The Board received a presentation by Deputy Director-General Health Workforce Division on key updates and issues relevant to our Health service.
The Board received updates from its standing committees that met during the reporting period, including the:
- Board Finance and Performance Committee
The Board also received the Health Service Chief Executive’s Board Report, which provided an update on key operational, strategic and performance matters across the health service.
Board activities
During July 2026, Board members participated in several meetings and engagements, including:
- the signing of a Heads of Agreement with Community Enterprise Queensland reaffirming our shared commitment to Closing the Gap in social, economic, health and wellbeing outcomes across the Torres Strait, Northern Peninsula Area and Cape York
- the Queensland National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week Flag Raising Ceremony in Brisbane, where Chair Williams participated in raising the Torres Strait Islander Flag
- Hospital and Health Board Chairs’ Forum
- Hospital and Health Board Safety and Quality Chairs’ Forum
- Clinical Governance Simulator: Safety and Quality Committee Workshop.
